OOC: History
While the TARDIS' known timeline started with the arrival of the First Doctor she was already museum piece by the time he found her. He had been exiled for breaking the law on non-interference and was given the chance to run which resulted in him stealing a type-40 TARDIS and leaving the planet with his granddaughter, Susan. While he had the opportunity to steal a better model the Doctor dismissed it as being soulless and instead chose the type-40. However, while stuck in a human body she said the theft had been mutual and that she'd stolen him because she'd wanted to see the universe. She'd even left her door unlocked after sensing that he wanted the same thing she did.
"Then you stole me. And I stole you." - TARDIS
Eventually they landed in 1963 London while the Doctor attempted to build missing components for the TARDIS and Susan went to school. When two humans, Ian and Barbara, became curious about Susan and followed her into the TARDIS the Doctor kidnapped them so they couldn't tell anyone else. While in the year 100,000 where the TARDIS experienced a malfunction with its chameleon circuit and its ability to indicate space/time coordinates. She was stuck as a 1960s blue police box for a long time after. During that adventure the Doctor realized that the humans posed no threat but due to the malfunctions he couldn't return them home and instead they ended up on Skaro where they had their first encounter with a race known as the Daleks. Taking new companions through time and space became normal for them, of course it also meant that people would leave. The Doctor even left his own granddaughter behind on Earth before he met his eventual end facing off against Cybermen though he did see her briefly again in later regenerations.
Her travel with the Second Doctor started off like his first incarnation with companions, traveling and saving planets. During this time was when the birth of the Master, a Time Lord who had once been an old friend on the Doctor. However all of the traveling ended when the Doctor was forced to give up his location to the Time Lords in order to save people and he was put on trial for his crimes. They shot him and forced him to regenerate then exiled him to 20th century Earth where they locked the TARDIS in order to keep him there. Thus started her adventures with the Third Doctor on Earth.
The Doctor entered the service of UNIT so he could use them to gain the parts needed to fix his TARDIS. It was discovered later that not only had the knowledge of TARDIS operation been blocked from his mind but also that the dematerialization codes had been changed. Due to this the third Doctor often used a roadster to get around planet Earth. When the Master arrived on Earth to cause trouble the Time Lords allowed the Doctor limited use of the TARDIS for missions but it always returned to Earth afterward. There were plenty of adventures - some of which involved the Master and some that didn't, however the Doctor always had to go back. At least until the Time Lords broke their own rules to bring the first three incarnations of the Doctor together to stop Omega. When all was said and done the Time Lords lifted the Doctor's exile as a reward. Even with all of time and space at his fingers he still visited Earth and UNIT a lot to help out from time to time. This Doctor met his end due to radiation caused by monstrous alien spiders. It actually took ten years for the radiation to eat away at his body, most of which he spent in the time vortex. During his final moments it was the TARDIS that took him to Earth where he had help with his regeneration.
The Fourth Doctor spent some time traveling around like normal, even landing on Skaro where he tried to intervene with the creation of his old foes, the Daleks. However he could not get their creator, Davros, to change at all. Yet he was successful in delaying their progression by at least 100 years. When he was summoned to Gallifrey he'd been forced to leave behind his human companion as humans hadn't been allowed on the planet at the time. While there he'd stopped yet another plan of the Master's and became eligible to become the next Lord President. This came into play sometime later after he'd traveled some more as he became the Lord President in order to save his home world from attacking forces, he didn't remember this after being too close to an explosion. Sometime after that he was given a very important mission from the White Guardian to obtain the pieces to the Key to Time in order to restore universal balance. Once he had assembled all of the segments he had to immediately disassemble it to keep the Black Guardian from getting a hold on it. To keep the Black Guardian from finding him, the Doctor installed a randomiser in the TARDIS so that not even he would know where they were going. After that the TARDIS accidentally fell through a CVE (charged vacuum emboitment) into a pocket universe known as E-Space. After a couple of adventures there he managed to escape E-Space and return to his original universe (N-Space). He'd left his previous companion behind there at her insistence but had taken on another. Shortly after that the Doctor began battling with the Master and during the struggle he fell to his death and next regeneration.
The Fifth Doctor wasn't much help after his regeneration as the TARDIS hurtled toward Event One thanks to the Master and several of her rooms had to be jettisoned in order to escape. This incarnation spent his time trying to return to Earth to return a companion but kept failing. He also was still trying to avoid the Black Guardian still who'd sent someone to kill him but the Doctor won the young man over. Eventually he met his tenth self as the TARDIS crashed into herself and the pair had to work together before the accident caused a hole in the universe. When that was done they both went on their way. A tragic loss shook the Doctor and his other companions when Adric was trapped and killed before he could be returned home. This Doctor had to work with several of his other incarnations to stop the current President from learning Rassilon's secret to immortality. He was also given a mission to collect the segments of the Key to Time as they were degrading and threatening the universe ever since he'd discarded them. This time he threw them into Chaos Pool in order to get rid of it once and for all. At the end he and his current companion were exposed to a deadly illness and with only one cure on board the TARDIS he gave it to the human. During the regeneration the Master tried to intervene with the change but one of the Doctor's former companions saved him.
Now the Sixth Doctor got it into his head that he'd sit down and try to fix everything wrong with the TARDIS and actually succeeding in fixing the chameleon circuit so the exterior would change to match the planet's surroundings. Though it was very short-lived and it eventually went back to being a 1963's blue Police Box. Several adventures later saw the Doctor forced into his TARDIS by Time Lords and materalizing on the Space Station Zenobia where he was put on trial by the Valeyard. All evidence of the Doctor's crimes were pulled from the Matrix even as he had to witness the death of his most recent companion. However it was discovered that the Valeyard had falsified some of the evidence including the companion's death and that he was really after the Doctor's remaining regenerations with the help of the corrupt Time Lord High Council. It was thanks to the Master that their treachery was exposed and the Doctor was allowed to go free once more. When he was weakened from a fight the TARDIS was caught in a Tractor Beam and pulled down to face the Rani.
The Seventh Doctor suffered a bit of amnesia, and for a time he worked side-by-side with his killer when she disguised herself as Mel. Eventually he caught her in her own lies and trapped her inside her lab and he regained his memories back and once again took to traveling time and space. It was during this incarnation when the TARDIS was painted pink but he painted it blue again. He eventually went home to Gallifrey where President Romana assigned him with the task to bring the Master's ashes back from Skaro. Shortly after he collected the remains the end came for the seventh incarnation. The ashes had escaped from the container and began to mess with the TARDIS controls, causing the Doctor to make an emergency landing on Earth. When he stepped outside the Doctor was a victim of a gang shoot-out and taken to a hospital. The doctors there tried to fix a heart anomaly that had been caused by his second heart and he died on the surgical table.
It was during the Eighth Doctor's incarnation that he suffered another case of amnesia and it was the opening of the TARDIS' Eye of Harmony that helped him regain his memories. The Master was sucked into the Eye while it brought back two others who had died in the struggle. Due to the temporal usage as he tried to save Earth it caused the eighth Doctor's life to be a series of paradoxes and parallel timelines. So it's only natural to be confused when it's mentioned that when he went to leave Earth after this The Master attacked, causing yet another bout of amnesia. This time he found himself traveling to different points in his past and meeting previous incarnations until he finally regained his memories. During the early years the TARDIS took on a parasite that threatened her Doctor's life and her near-destruction was done in a dimensional tear. She spent time in a bottle universe that was created inside the Time Vortex drawing power so that she could regrow. It took her about five thousand years but she reformed above Gallifrey in the shape of a vast Gallifreyan flower. Her inside had become her outside and the Edifice (the name she'd had at this point) became a nexus point that stretched throughout time. When the Edifice lost its power it erased the Faction Paradox from history, causing an alternate timeline. Without the power that had sustained it the Edifice collapsed in on itself leaving the TARDIS nothing but a small blue box. The Doctor himself took a hundred years to recover from the entire shock of the whole thing with the TARDIS tucked neatly into his pocket. In 2001 the TARDIS had completely regrown herself and the pair were reunited again where they traveled for an unknown amount of time. The TARDIS also contracted a vortex parasite that began to suck the life out of her and she created a virtual environment where she also created virtual versions of the Doctor and his companion to help her combat the virus. It was during this time that the Doctor realized that the woman in white who'd aided them was the representation of the soul of the TARDIS. Yet the greatest thing in this incarnation's life was the Last Great Time War where he took it upon himself to end the war by creating The Moment and time-locking the whole thing. While a lot of the details of the War aren't spoken about it's been made clear that it was pretty horrific. When it was over there was the only the Doctor and his TARDIS. It's not entirely clear how the eighth Doctor died but the War had caused it in some way.
The Ninth Doctor, the last Time Lord, traveled without a companion for some time until he ran into Rose Tyler while fighting the Nestene Consciousness and he took on as his newest and first companion since the War. Together the two of them fought the evils of the universe, saved some lives and even picked up a handsome ex-Time Agent. In the year 200,100 the TARDIS team was transported out of their ship and into reality television stages. The Doctor and Jack both managed to escape but were unable to reach Rose before she was seemingly killed. To find answers the pair traveled to the station's control booth where they spoke with the controller only to learn that Dalek Emperor had survived the war and had built itself a Dalek fleet just to trap the Doctor. When the Doctor discovered that his plan would kill every living nearby thing he sent Rose back to her time inside the TARDIS. Yet Rose's determination was strong and she looked into the Heart of the TARDIS granting her the power to control time and space. Rose returned to the Doctor and spoke of how she had become the Bad Wolf in order to scatter messages across the universe. With the TARDIS' power Rose de-atomized the Daleks and brought eternal life to Jack. The TARDIS' power was too much for any human to contain so the Doctor sacrificed his ninth incarnation to draw it out and release it back into the ship before piloting the two of them back to Rose's time leaving the now-immortal Jack behind.
As they returned to Earth he regenerated into the Tenth Doctor and crash-landed the TARDIS outside of Rose's home. It didn't take long for them to be off and running again and even gained a new companion. At one point the TARDIS malfunctioned and spun them into a parallel Earth where she nearly died and left them all stranded there. The trio saw the birth of Cybermen in that universe and also helped stop it before Rose and the Doctor returned home without Mickey. Later they landed on what was left of a planet that was orbiting a black hole. One good shake of the space structure had the TARDIS falling into the planet, seemingly lost forever. Eventually the Doctor discovered her again and used her to pull the others to safety. When they returned to Rose's home they found out that people were being visited by ghosts and the Doctor tracked down the ghosts source to Torchwood. As bad luck would have it the ghosts were actually the parallel Earth's Cybermen coming through and to make things even worse the Cult of Skaro arrived to bring even more Daleks onto Earth. Still with a little help the Doctor managed to send the Cybermen and most of the Daleks into The Void. The most tragic loss was that the Doctor had lost Rose to the parallel Earth and he burned up a star just to say goodbye to her. Just after the connection was lost a woman had appeared in the TARDIS and the Doctor took her back to Earth to figure out how and to save Christmas. AGAIN.
His next companion, Martha was met inside of a hijacked hospital and the two of them went through the average adventures until they came across a species that wanted the Doctor's body. He used the TARDIS' Chameleon Arch to become a human mentally and physically and lived a short life as John Smith. In 2006 they were found by Weeping Angels and sent back to the year 1969 without the TARDIS and had to figure out a way to get back while keeping the Angels from devouring her energy. While they were in Cardriff for thirty seconds refueling a man had attached himself to the TARDIS' exterior and she traveled to the year 100 trillion trying to escape him - the end of the universe. There the Doctor met Professor Yana who was building a rocket to reach utopia and helped the last of the humans achieve lift-off. Martha had noticed that the Professor had a fob watch just like when the Doctor had spent time as a human and when it was opened it was the return of the Master. After being shot and regenerating inside of the TARDIS the Master stole her and was forced to return to London. The Doctor and his companions followed only to discover that the Master had become Prime Minister of Great Britain. He introduced the world to creatures called the Toclafane. In the eighteen months the Master had been in London he had cannabalized the TARDIS turning her into a paradox machine to let even more Toclafane through to invade the Earth. The Doctor, the TARDIS, Jack and Martha's family all spent a year as the Master's prisoners while Martha went free -- telling the world a story. When she returned the world used the Archangel Network to restore the Doctor and the Master was quickly defeated before being shot by his own wife. He refused to regenerate just to spite the Doctor. It was Jack who destroyed the paradox machine and sent most of the world back in time to forget the year of the Master's horrifying reign. With that terrifying adventure Martha departed ways with the Doctor leaving him on his own once again. It was after that when the tenth Doctor ran into his fifth incarnation before the TARDIS got herself acquainted with the Titanic and the Doctor had another eventful Christmas.
On his own the Doctor began investigating a strange company and ran into an old face from a past Christmas adventure and this time she took up his offer to travel through time and space. Who would have ever thought that they'd end up in Pompeii on volcano day? It especially didn't help when the Doctor realized he was the downfall of the city in order to save the rest of the planet. After saving the world from the Sontaran's poison gas, the TARDIS was drawn to a strange planet where the Doctor's DNA was taken to create a daughter. Not even a day old and the Doctor had to witness Jenny's death as she saved his life by taking a bullet from him. Later when the Doctor recieved a psychic message they went to visit the Library where the Doctor met River Song who was someone he'd continue meeting in his future. It was during this adventure when the Doctor discovered that he could open the TARDIS doors with a snap of his finger. The next big adventure was when Rose visited Donna's parallel world in order to get a message to the Doctor. As quick as they could they returned to Earth only to find that nothing had happened and while they were inside the TARDIS there was a sudden shaking and the Earth had just vanished. A visit to the Shadow Proclamation showed the Doctor that a total of twenty-seven planets had been stolen and he even managed to track them down to the Medusa Cascade. Yet when they arrived there the planets weren't there and it took a signal from his friends to take them a second out of sync with the rest of the universe to show them the way. Shortly after they arrived on Earth the Doctor was shot by a Dalek and they returned to the TARDIS which was then transported onto the Dalek's mothership. Once there the group was forced out all except Donna who the TARDIS had trapped inside even as the TARDIS was dropped into the core of the ship to be destroyed. Donna touched the Doctor's previously severed hand and a new Doctor was born from it and he piloted the ship to safety. The meta-crisis Doctor and Donna returned to the Dalek ship in order to save the others and the rest of reality. They succeeded and managed to send all but one of the planets back to where they belong, the TARDIS is used to take Earth back like a little tug boat. All of the Doctor's companions left and he was alone once more and pretty much remained that way for the rest of this incarnation.
Having been given a prophecy about his death the Doctor refused to go where he was supposed to and had several adventures along the way realizing what being alone was doing to him. He even met up with someone who called himself the Doctor and the tenth version believed this to be his future self. As it turned out the man wasn't the next Doctor but a normal man who had suffered an emotional shock so terrible that he forgot who he was. It didn't help that he'd had an info-stamp containing everything about the Doctor downloaded into his head. Alongside his "other self", Jackson Lake, the Doctor defeated the Cybermen and saved Earth once again. Finally he gave in and went to see the Ood who told him of the Master's return and that the end of time was coming. He returned to Earth only to once again fight his old friend and stop the Master from bringing back the Time Lords and the entire Time War. When he had succeeded the Doctor thought that perhaps he'd escaped the prophecy but in the end it was Donna's grandfather that he sacrificed his tenth life for. As he died from nuclear radiation the Doctor visited each one of his companions to help them or just see them before returning to the TARDIS to regenerate.
The tenth Doctor's death and Eleventh Doctor's birth was so huge that the TARDIS' interior suffered a gigantic amount of damage and she was forced to fix herself as he regenerated. They crash landed in someone's yard and completely destroyed a shed and the Doctor was forced to use a grapple hook to escape as she hadn't landed upright. While the Doctor hung around with a little girl the TARDIS had started to rebuild already until he returned a short while later at the sound of the cloister bell. The Doctor had intended to return to collect Amelia in five minutes but the TARDIS wasn't capable of doing that and returned twelve years later instead. The next time the Doctor tried to enter the TARDIS for a new sonic screwdriver she wouldn't let him back in so he had to go without for a short while as he dealt with Prisoner Zero. Finally the reconstruction of the TARDIS was complete and they took a short trip to the moon before once again returning for Amy - two years late. Finally the Doctor had gained himself a new companion. As usual the two of them travel around time and space where trouble eventually found them.
One of their adventures led them to have an encounter with River Song and a whole giant underground system filled with Weeping Angels. The three of them only managed to escape with some help from a crack in time that seemed to be following Amy. Shortly after that Amy's fiancee, Rory, began traveling with them but it seemed short-lived when he was shot down then erased by another crack in time. Wanting to know more about the crack the Doctor stuck his hand into it and pulled out a piece of the TARDIS' exterior. Next the TARDIS attempted to materialize on Earth but as soon as the Doctor stepped out she de-materialized as an outside force was blocking her landing and Amy was trapped inside a materialization loop. The Doctor discovered that a space ship had crashed and was now looking from suitable pilots and that's what kept the TARDIS from landing.
Finally the day came when they'd learn all about the cracks in the universe as River had left a message for the Doctor to show up in Roman Britain in the 2nd century to meet her. She showed them a painting by Vincent Van Gogh of the TARDIS exploding and that it was labeled "The Pandorica Opens". Together they traveled to Stonehenge and discovered that underneath is the fabled Pandorica and that it was opening. Stonehenge itself was transmitting to every place and time and that other species were coming for it. River went back to camp to send Roman reinforcements and the Doctor discovered that Rory was one of them. The Doctor sent River to collect the TARDIS but instead of materializing under Stonehedge the pair of them went to Amy's time where River learned that everything was an elaborate trap for the Doctor. When she tried to leave there was something that took control of the TARDIS and caused it to explode while the Doctor was placed into the Pandorica by his enemies and Amy was shot by the unwilling Auton Rory. As the TARDIS exploded all of the worlds, stars and life in the universe ceased to exist, leaving only the Earth and moon.
It seemed all was lost until a future Doctor used River's vortex manipulator to give Rory some advice to save Amy's life and to get his younger self out of the Pandorica. Over two thousand years later a young Amy visited the Pandorica to bring life back to her older self. Together again the group traveled up to the roof to see what looks like the sun but is actually the TARDIS still exploding with River inside on a time loop. After saving River and being shot by a Dalek the Doctor had an ingenious idea to pilot the Pandorica into the exploding TARDIS to create Big Bang two and restart the universe, at the cost of erasing himself. It was with the help of Amy that both the Doctor and the TARDIS came back into existence again and they appeared in the middle of her dance floor on her wedding day. Shortly after the wedding the Doctor left the newlyweds on a spaceship that soon experienced a bit of trouble as it entered a strange atmosphere. The Doctor attempted to talk to the man in charge of the skies but the bitter old man refused to help so the Doctor went back in time to when he was a kid. To convince Kazran to do good, the Doctor visited every Christmas and they would take Abigail on Christmas adventures until finally she couldn't join them anymore. On her last trip out of the cryogenically frozen state she calmed the skies with a song to allowed the damaged ship to land safely.
The time came to face what had caused the TARDIS to explode and an 1100-ish year old Doctor called all of his friends - Amy, Rory and River - to see him in America. They had a picnic together and they all thought it was strange when an Apollo Astronaut emerged from the water only to permanently kill the Doctor. After his body had been burned the trio returned to the cafe only to find a younger Doctor waltzing out of his TARDIS. At first he was reluctant to take them anywhere but home as they all refused to talk about who they had been summoned by but Amy convinced him to investigate with them. Together they went to find Canton in 1969 and they accidentally ended up in the President's oval office where the Doctor overheard a conversation Nixon had with a little girl. Further investigation led them to a species known as the Silence that other aliens had been warning the Doctor about throughout his journey as the eleventh incarnation. Working together the group managed to rid the Earth of the Silence even if they still had questions about just about everything.
Their next adventure took them to the 17th century on a pirate ship where the crew was being terrorized by a siren. Two ships had collided and the TARDIS had picked up a distress signal that the trio had to investigate. As it turned out the siren snatched away the crew of the ship whenever they'd get injured, even if it was just a tiny scratch. They worked out that she appeared when a watery surface was calm and locked themselves away in a storage room where there was no water. When the Doctor attempted to pilot the TARDIS to save the others the siren snatched it away like she had all of the men. When Rory went overboard he was rescued by the siren and eventually they too get taken by the siren in hopes of saving their friends only to find themselves on an alien ship and the "siren" was really a medical program that was attempting to heal all of the men. Amy resuscitated Rory as the pirates took to space in order to dislodge the two trapped ships as some of the pirates couldn't leave due to their injuries and sickness.
When they were traveling through deep space a message came - a message from another Time Lord in distress. The Doctor traced it to outside of the universe to a small pocket of space and followed it. Upon landing on the asteroid that wasn't actually an asteroid but a living creature, the life was drained out of the TARDIS though it wasn't just the energy. No, the heart and soul of the TARDIS was pulled from the box and placed inside a human woman named Idris. When she was face-to-face with the Doctor she tried to tell him who she was but couldn't remember the name though she told him that the little boxes would make him angry before she was taken away. After that the Doctor went in search of the Time Lords in trouble only to discover that there was a collection of distress beacons from the long dead. That was when he came back and found out that the woman, known as Idris, was actually the TARDIS and that House ate TARDISes. With the Matrix of the TARDIS out of the way House was able to take over her box-form to leave for the universe, taking Amy and Rory with it.
Together the Doctor and the TARDIS pulled together scraps from the eaten TARDISes around them to build a console in order to chase after the other group. When they materialized in an archived Nine/Ten's console room the Doctor told House how to escape into their universe was by deleting rooms. House's mistake was to delete the room with all of them in it as things from deleted rooms were deposited in the current console room. So all of them were now exactly where they needed to be. When the TARDIS' human body died her heart and soul were released back into the console room and she defeated House and purged him from her systems. Thus she was back where she was supposed to be, though she proved that she could hear and respond to the Doctor.
After that they went on several more adventures that dealt with two Doctors, a war, the truth of River Song, paradoxes and more of the usual. At one point the Doctor sent Amy and Rory home as he knew of his death. He tried to run and she helped like usual and they attempted to find out answers about the Silence and why they wanted him dead. When he found out decide to throw a wrench in all of the plans. The Doctor went to meet his death by River Song only to have her change it. Time stopped and everything happened all at once and it was all tearing apart at the seams. Yet there was something River wanted to tell him before he died and they were married before it all snapped back into place - an aborted timeline. They were back on the beach, River killing the Doctor. Except...it wasn't the Doctor, it was the Doctor inside of a Doctor suit and he survived everything. He let them all believe he was dead (or at least they would have thought that if River hadn't told them) and in the meantime the Doctor decided to take a step back into the shadows.
Since staying hidden isn't really all that possible with the Doctor he went on to have all sorts of adventures with the Ponds involving an exploding spaceship, a flying forest, the Dalek Asylum where he was luckily deleted from their Pathweb, a dinosaur ark, alien sheriffs, and tiny black boxes. All leading up to Amy and Rory's final adventure with the Doctor. In Manhattan they were attacked by Weeping Angels and due to the temporal disturbance that could have burned New York could only get through to the time to rescue Rory once. So when he was taken a second time after being rescued Amy threw herself to the Angel's mercy, hoping that it would take her to be with him. It did but the Doctor couldn't go back for them so they lived out their lives in another timeline. The Doctor was alone again except for the occasional adventures with River and it took its toll on him.
He claimed he'd retired from saving the universe and parked the TARDIS on a cloud in order to sulk. Some of his old friends attempted to get him involved again but kept failing. That was until he met Clara. Together they defeated the sentient snowmen but Clara lost her life in the process. It was her final words that sparked a reminder of something someone said. Oswin Oswald - the woman converted into a Dalek who still was human underneath it all. They were the same - the same woman who'd died twice and a new mystery called the Great Intelligence was involved. Together the TARDIS and the Doctor went off to solve this new mystery, except she never made it that far.
